Physician Assistant
Full-Time
(Paramus)
4 days a week
The HSS Physiatry department performs non-operative treatment procedures on patients who have spinal and sports-related injuries as well as other musculoskeletal problems.
The HSS Physiatry Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) will see new and follow-up patients at our Paramus, New Jersey location and support Physiatrists in clinic.
Given that this role will provide care to patients in NJ, HSS will support the NP/PA in obtaining and maintaining additional license needed. Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) offers a unique work environment, diverse job types and extraordinary career opportunities.

Qualifications
Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) NPs/PAs are committed to personalized, high-quality healthcare and are held to the same legal and ethical standards of care as physicians and surgeons.
Nurse Practitioner:
- Obtains/Maintains NP license in NY, CT and NJ
- FNP Required
- Obtains/Maintains board certification as a NP in specialty area of practice
- Experience with injections, aspirations, and casting
- BLS via American Heart Association
- 2 years of experience as an NP preferred
Physician Assistant
- Obtains/Maintains PA license in NY, CT and NJ.
- Obtains/Maintains current NCCPA certification
- Experience with injections, aspirations, and casting
- BLS via American Heart Association
- 2 years of experience as an NP preferred
Both:
- Utilizes evidence-based practice
- Committed to best practices; maintains clinical competency
- Promotes quality healthcare; seeks to improve and impact clinical outcomes.
- Engaged in self-directed continued learning and professional development
- Leads and participates in professional healthcare forums, conducts research and applies findings to clinical practice.
Essential Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence others are essential
- Proactive and outstanding decision-making abilities
- Ability to work with varied members of the medical team (surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, etc)
