Key Role:
We are seeking a talented Advanced Network Engineer responsible for the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of tactical and garrison networks in support of Marine Corps Network Engineering Lab (MCNEL) and I.T. System Support Division (I2SD) at Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA). Must possess strong analytical abilities and be proficient in troubleshooting complex network scenarios. Candidate must be able to create and maintain detailed network architectural drawings in support of testing. The Advanced Network Engineer will be responsible for contributing in a team environment to deliver customer solution requirements within a specified timeline and budget. The candidate will work with a team to assist in providing engineering solutions, network analysis and Test and Evaluation (T&E) activities for multiple network systems for a government client. The engineer will be a part of an engineering team responsible for the installation, configuration, analyzing, and troubleshooting of campus and enterprise infrastructure. The role must be able to understand and interpret traffic analyzers/injection devices and collection/analyst tools. This position is located in Camp Pendleton, CA.
Qualifications- 8+ years of Network Engineering and traffic analyzing experience
- DoD Secret Security Clearance
- 5+ years of related technical, hands-on experience engineering/designing campus and enterprise infrastructure networks
- Knowledge of DoD related policies, procedures and technical environment
- Experience with USMC/Navy networks
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Networking, Science, Engineering or CCNA plus relevant experience
- CompTIA Security+
- Proficiency in Cisco/Arista routers and switches, Microsoft Office Applications and extensive knowledge of diagraming networks via Visio
- Thorough understanding of LAN/WAN/wireless technology and protocols including but not limited to WiFi, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, and Spanning Tree
- Ability to provide obtain PCAP captures and analyze. Perform detailed packet analysis via data packet capture to rule out network issues and provide diagnostics for application performance issues and server problems
- Experience with technical writing (reports, white papers, How To’s)
- Experience with research and development of military designed solutions based on GOTS/COTS products
- Possess high-level expertise using traffic analyzers/injection devices preferred the following tools: Wireshark, Riverbed, Spirent, and Ixia
- Possess high-level expertise in virtualization as it pertains to Hyper-V, VMware, ESXi, VSAN, NSX-T
- Assist in IT troubleshooting situations of all types
- Design, implementation, operation, maintenance, and optimization of a mission-critical network
- Must be willing to travel

- Must be a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Government Background Investigation will be conducted
- DoD USMC experience is a huge plus
