Job description

Serve as pilot-in-command on Columbia Model 234 Chinook and/or Columbia CH47-D Chinook in support of Columbia Helicopters’ international and domestic flight operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Briefly describe each major job function (those essential to achieving primary purpose).   • Operates aircraft to the highest standard, safety, and efficiency:
    • Utilizes sound aeronautical decision making (ADM), risk management, and situational awareness (SA)
    • Performs work in accordance with company policies, regulations, and guidance
  • Orchestrates the flight operations and the activities of all personnel under the scope of their responsibilities
  • Represents the company in a positive manner in all activities
  • Promotes Columbia Helicopters’ core values and integrity while in conduct of their duties:
    • Meets customers’ expectations to ensure the highest possible service
    • Actively identifies and mitigates safety concerns and/or risks
    • Seeks opportunities for improvement and productivity
  • Coordinates and supports the project team:
    • Performs any required administrative tasks
    • Assists wherever possible in the overall success of the operation
    • Keeps Columbia Helicopters’ management and other interested stakeholders informed of job activities or other relevant information
  • Serves as Project Lead in the absence of the Site Manager
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Flight Operations, VP of Operations, Chief Pilot, and Assistant Chief Pilot
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE - Describe the minimum skills, knowledge, education, certifications, etc., and related job experience that incumbent typically must have to perform the essential functions of the job acceptably.

  • Commercial Pilot License or higher with Rotorcraft Helicopter class rating
  • Current Class II (or higher) FAA medical certification
  • Currency in the appropriate type aircraft
  • Type rating(s) as required by aircraft
  • US or equivalent passport
  • At least 1,000 hours PIC
  • Long-line Part 133 qualification
  • Ability to work in austere environments for prolonged periods
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Ability to work in a team and high stress environment
  • Strong supervisory skills
  • On call 24/7 via company cell phone when on duty
