SUMMARY
Coordinates admissions in compliance with resident needs, facility requirements, department policies and government regulations. Provides sales tours, product information and information concerning Medicare/Medicaid and other financial information as needed to prospective residents and families, to support achievement of budgeted census.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other Duties may be assigned:
Develop and maintain relationships with area health care providers, referral sources, area churches and community leaders to assist in positioning Brethren Retirement Community as the provider of choice for all senior housing/healthcare needs. Maintains current knowledge of other senior living providers in our primary market.
Maintain knowledge of all levels of care at Brethren Retirement Community to offer Admissions support to the Admissions Counselor by meeting with prospective residents/families by giving tours, completing admission paperwork, follow-up phone calls to prospects, their families and referral sources, scheduling assessments, submitting the financial application for admission for approval by administration and ensuring that the move-in process is timely and smooth for all.
Maintain current knowledge concerning room availability, including recommending room moves which may be beneficial for the current resident, and which may be beneficial in expediting admission of a prospective resident.
Maintain current knowledge of BRC’s waiting list for the licensed nursing facility in compliance with the Department of Health; the waiting list for the licensed residential care area, and assure compliance of both waiting lists with all admission policies for the Brethren Retirement Community.
Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with other departments to assure accurate and timely communication concerning new admissions, and to assure the admission process is well organized and smooth as possible for the resident, family or responsible party and all departments within Brethren Retirement Community.
Make recommendations to Administration concerning resident financial eligibility prior to admission and refer to/work with outside agencies for resident financial assistance as required.
Assist prospective residents in selecting rooms which match the resident level of care needed and resident preference and assist prospective residents and family/responsible parties in setting appointments with our Medicaid specialist for those applying for Medicaid as needed.
Consistently update Sherpa, our prospect database, with all necessary information on next steps to admission, all communication with the prospect and their families including calls, emails, direct mail.
Complete all necessary training with Point Click Care to be proficient in using this Electronic Medical Record to complete new resident admissions and the appropriate paperwork.
Complies with all BRC Corporate Compliance Policies and the BRC Code of Conduct.
All other duties as assigned by your Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s Degree from a two-year college or university; or five to six years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and response to questions from groups of manager, clients, customers and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and
geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only
limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram
or schedule form.
