Admissions Intake Call Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as aIntake Call Specialist!

Available shift: 10am to 7pm

The Intake Call Specialist's main duties are to answer incoming calls, faxes and referrals to Access Center. Determine the needs of callers/referrals and coordinate referrals to Ridgeview’s Assessment Center or other resources to further address those needs. Document phone triages through data entry in computer and manually on call sheets. Coordinates with Access Center Assessment Clinicians and other hospital staff to ensure internal and external customer service needs are met.

Job Responsibilities, may include but are not limited to:

• Conducts initial medical necessity clinical screening and determines if initial clinical information presented meets medical necessity criteria for inpatient level of care.
• Conducts initial medical necessity review of exception by verifying insurance with the client health plan network.
• Provide nurse to nurse with sending facility
• Follows-up to obtain additional clinical information.
• Ensures proper documentation, provider communication, and telephone service per department standards and performance metrics.
• Assists with development of utilization/care management policies and procedures.
• Prioritizes tasks and manages multiple simultaneous projects and duties effectively
• Uses patient information to accurately assign patient placement based on condition, admitting diagnosis, etc.
• Answers calls from physician offices, hospitals and other areas and departments in a timely manner.
• Is able to multi-task effectively
• Ability to understand insurance and the insurance database
• Ability to work faced paced.
• Coordinate with the nursing team on bed status
• Call center and some medical knowledge is a plus
• Other office duties as required.

Education:BA in Mental health field or significant related work experience, preferred. Graduate from an accredited RN program, preferred.

Experience:1-year experience in intake or admissions process.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion CPR/ First Aid certification and CPI training to within 90 days of employment prior to assisting with restraining procedures. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
