Position Summary

The Admission Clinician will conduct comprehensive substance abuse assessments, program orientation, and initial and follow-up GPRA interviews. The Admission Clinician will complete all initial intakes, including the Initial Behavioral Health Assessment (BHA), the Initial Treatment Plan (TX), service orders, and referrals. These referrals could encompass CSI services, PSRI, and/or resource navigation if the family requires it. The Lead Admissions counselor will facilitate discharge planning sessions and provide referrals and resources to clients ending substance abuse services. The Lead Admission Counselor will oversee the other staff facilitating intake assessments and ensure compliance of all incoming consumers.

Role and Responsibilities

The primary duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Facilitate and Coordinate referral and intake process for potential consumers
    • Manage initial referrals, including outreach to the provider, make initial referral calls to the consumer/guardian, and schedule intake assessment and subsequent intake appointments.
    • Assessing consumers/ clients’ history of substance use (drug and alcohol) trauma, understanding, strengths, and needs.
    • Screen, evaluate, and triage potential consumers to determine what services/evidence-based interventions should be offered (level of care)
    • Provide initial clinical impressions
    • Administer Biopsychosocial assessment
    • Administer Caregiver Strain Assessment
    • Administer Child and Adolescent Needs/Adult and Strengths assessment (CANS/ANSA) as needed
    • Administer program required screening tools such as ACE, PHQ-9, and GAD-7
    • Facilitate Government Performance Results Act (GPRA) interviews to clients who are receiving and/or have received services.
    • Ensure intake paperwork is complete and meets organizations and accrediting standards.
    • Develop initial IRPs/Treatment plans
    • Facilitate and Coordinate Discharge process for consumers ending services
    • Conduct discharge planning sessions making necessary referrals to community organizations for ongoing consumer support
    • Completing necessary paperwork for referral organizations such as requests for PRTF or Internal Transfer Forms.
  • Coordinating Services and Collaboration
    • Make necessary referrals to meet consumers' health, well-being, education, mental health, and employment needs (i.e., Department of Public Health, Department of Family & Children Services, Georgia Department of Labor, employment staffing agencies, local colleges, and tech schools, etc.)
    • Gather necessary referral paperwork from other organizations, obtaining necessary Release of Information needed.
    • Participate in Team Meetings for all consumers/members/residents/young adults.
    • Collaborate and communicate with other programs in the CHRIS 180 continuum in the provision of services to consumers
    • Collaborate and consult with other providers and entities in the provision of best care services to consumers
    • Advocate on behalf of clients with other agencies to include coordinating services to patients.
    • Maintain small caseload of ongoing clients adhering to program, organizational, and accrediting standards.
    • Facilitate ASAM I and ASAM II group services as needed in support of other program staff.
    • Collaborate and Coordinate with other program staff to ensure continuity of care.
    • Documentation Requirements
    • Complete Point of Entry documentation and all other intake scheduling
    • Timely documentation of all case activities in accordance with Center policy
    • Maintain detailed case files and other documentation in 100% compliance with standards.

  • Oversee the other staff facilitating intake assessments and ensure compliance of all incoming consumers.
  • Support expansion of services by assisting in training and onboarding of new admissions counselors and coordinators
  • Attend and participate in all meetings and supervision as required and in accordance with CHRIS 180 policy and procedures.
  • Adhere to CHRIS 180 Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, and GA Code
  • Maintain consumers’ confidentiality according the 42 C.F.R Part 2 and HIPPA
  • Support and maintain an environment of emotional and physical safety for consumers, staff, and other stakeholders at all times
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service

Qualifications/Competencies

  • Must be fully licensed as a LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Postdoctoral Psychologist candidate.
  • Trained in Evidence-based Practices for Trauma and SUD (e.g., TF-CBT, ARC, MI, EMDR, etc.)
  • Preference is given to individuals with additional certifications in substance use disorder treatment. (e.g., CACII, MAC, CPS, CARES)
  • Experience in conducting Substance Abuse Assessments, treatment planning, and diagnosis
  • Experience treating Individuals with SUD and COD
  • Experience with treatment at ASAM Level I or Level II.
  • Skilled in providing individual, family and group therapy,
  • Ability to effectively relate to clients, parents/custodians of all social, economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds, with firmness, fairness, and concern,
  • Solid decision-making ability as related to the safety and well-being of clients, families, community, and staff.
  • Be guided by precedent and established policy and procedure in decision-making. This person will be required to analyze and react to difficult situations, often while under considerable stress and pressure.
  • Dependability, emotional stability, and physical capability. This position requires some physical functions that are essential to satisfactory performance of the outlined job responsibilities, i.e., sitting, standing, walking, driving, speaking, hearing and the ability to physically restrain (when necessary).
  • Ability to recognize when assistance and consultation is needed.
  • The Therapist must be free to travel as the position demands.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Must be able to work independently and within a team setting
  • Proficient in MS Office and office management software.

Salary: $65,000.00

Schedule:

Typically work Monday - Friday between various hours. Schedules are flexible based on need and site assignment. Evening and Weekend hours may be required to accommodate client needs. Schedules may vary based on site assignment/operating hours. Flexibility is a requirement and schedules are subject to change (with notice) based on clinic needs, grants, projects, or site assignments.
