JOB SUMMARY
Provides front office and administrative support for staff and students in the Admissions, ADA, and Advising Offices as directed. The Office of Admissions and ADA is a fast-paced environment providing frontline student support through events, activities, and triage of essential steps for enrollment and student account set up. The ability to quickly triage information and direct students in a fast paced environment is essential. The ability to use and learn technology and retain information is essential for this role. This position reports to the Senior Director of Enrollment Development.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- First point of contact for current and prospective students, parents and visitors who telephone, email, or visit the Admissions and ADA offices.
- Monitors student traffic flow within the office; provides assistance to and/or alerts professional staff of student needs.
- Performs administrative duties as needed for Admissions and ADA Support Services.
- Provides phone triage and answers and assists with student enrollment processes.
- Schedules appointments for students.
- Assists as needed with application and account set up.
- Monitors e-mail boxes and responds to email and CRM inquiries from prospective students.
- Provides testing, prospect, and application data entry.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year’s experience in essential job functions
- Demonstrated aptitude and proficiently learning and using new technologies
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task to successfully balance multiple competing priorities a must
- Excellent ability to work with and learn new technology
- Computer experience with Microsoft Office
- Must be positive, cooperative, and supportive
Preferred:
- Associate degree.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is normally light work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Periodically, it requires standing for longer periods of time during presentations or fairs.
Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
- Hear/talk/communicate – Must be able to exchange information and communicate
- Visual Acuity – Ability to perceive or detect surroundings
- Mental Acuity – Able to focus, concentrate, understand and convey subject matter
- Repetitive motion (i.e. keyboarding)
- Stand/sit/walk/able to move or traverse from one area to another
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
College campus, direct contact with students, staff, faculty and the general public in classrooms, common areas, offices, and campus environments. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms; use of safe workplace practices with office equipment; computers for data entry and word processing; avoidance of trips and falls; observance of fire and building safety regulations and College policies. Work hours may vary <29 hours per week, (generally 24 hours per week).
