River Edge is currently seeking an energetic Full-time Registered Nurse for the Admissions Unit. We're seeking an energetic and enthusiastic candidate who has a strong commitment to exceeding client expectations. Within this role, the candidate can assist with providing substance abuse and mental health referrals, assistance with housing applications and other housing needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Completes physical & mental health assessments.
  • Develops care plans for patients, helping them be as independent as possible.
  • Administers and monitors treatment regimens.
  • Administers prescribed medications, making constant adjustments commensurate with a patient's condition under the supervision of qualified medical staff.
  • Observes and reports behavioral changes.
  • Maintains control of drugs and medications
  • Helps patients improve their coping abilities.
  • Works with patients' families to help improve the patient's abilities & help them deal with family member's mental illness.
  • Records all care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
  • Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
  • Remain in compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, including all of River Edge's policies and procedures and Quality Assurance Plan, DBHDD requirements, State Licensing standards, County Monitoring requirements, and managed care regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Current nursing license, in good standing with the Georgia State licensing board.
  • Minimum of one (1) year Psychiatric experience.
  • All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test.
  • Provide 2 Professional references. (Former employers only, no family members)
  • Must have knowledge and experience with the chronically mentally ill population.
  • Must have strong clinical skills. 
  • Must have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Must have ability to multi-task and remain organized.

Schedule - Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
