BUSINESS UNIT: TERMINALS
Kinder Morgan is the largest independent terminal operator in North America, providing a strong, reliable network of 144 terminals serving our customers’ storage, distribution, blending and logistical needs. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products. We have a combined liquids storage capacity of approximately 151 million barrels and handle about 59 million tons of dry bulk materials annually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Admin-Ops will provide administrative and staff support to the Houston Bulk Terminal, working under the direct supervision of the Terminal Manager and Supervisors of the terminal Primary Purpose to gather, input, retrieve and maintain operational information in both computer and manual system. Other duties include but are not limited to.
- Interface with Contractors and Vendors to provide status updates as needed.
- Schedule bid walk with contractors.
- Submit information to Procurement to have Purchase Orders created.
- Gather and submit information regarding AFE projects.
- Enter information into MAXIMO Computer program.
- Create and issue work orders
- Enter Information from completed work orders into MAXIMO and various computer programs.
- Maintain computerized parts inventory list.
- Maintain Fuel Reports.
- Maintain work pending files.
- Locate or assist in locating material required by employees and or /contractors.
- Maintain Preventative Maintenance Schedules.
- Monitor data for inconsistencies and errors.
- Develop and issue computer reports as needed.
- Order Parts and supplies as directed by management.
- Generate clerical duties including filing, photocopying, faxing, posting of notices, and retrieving /distributing mail.
- Ensure all paperwork meets KM, customer, and governmental requirements.
- Track, create, and update various Excel spreadsheets and KPI's.
- Must have proven communication skills both oral and written, with the ability to communicate with a variety of individuals and personalities at all levels internally and outside the organization.
- Strong reading, listening, administrative skills and logical thought processes with the ability to identify and resolve simple to complex issues/problems.
- Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, including tracking and managing projects, data and daily work, professionally seeing such to completion, and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to successfully perform the required and expected duties with minimal direct supervision.
- Must be able to successfully and simultaneously manage multiple tasks, often under short or changing deadlines, in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a small group environment as a cooperative team member, take direction from supervisor(s), focus attention on details, follow work rules and adhere to established work schedules, and maybe required to work non-traditional work hours as needed.
- Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of performance.
- Assist coworkers on various daily, weekly, and monthly duties as well as assist with special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
Minimum requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
Experience / specific knowledge:
- Individual must have proficient knowledge in various Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for the purpose of word processing, presentations, spreadsheets and information retrieval.
- 1 - 3 years of Administrative / Office background experience and or.
- 1 – 3 years of Maximo experience or working knowledge of equivalent CMMS programs.
Certifications, skills, and abilities:
- Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers and must be willing to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment.
- Must pass and complete Safety training/certification as required by customers to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder Morgan at all locations, such as DISA and/or ISTC background checks may be required; Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) is required.

- Must be able to complete Kinder Morgan training as required.

- Ability to identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Physical demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, squat, reach, etc. for extended periods of time.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Field visits to ensure assets are accurately being accounted for.

Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:
Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
- Associates degree in Business or Accounting preferred.
- Experience in the following Lawson, and PAWS is a plus.
