Job Location: This position will be located at 920 Wildwood Dr, Jefferson City MO 65109, with the eventual possibility (following a successful training & orientation period) to transition to a hybrid working arrangement (2 days/week from the Jefferson City office; 3 days/week from a remote/home location)
The Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is responsible for protecting the health, safety and welfare of the public by assuring that Emergency Medical Services provided by ambulance services, Emergency Medical response agencies, training entities and EMS personnel meet or exceed established standards.
The position provides the leadership and administrative oversight for the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, including:
- Acts as a resource person for staff and industry
- Directs the overall planning and development for the Bureau of EMS
- Provides leadership and direct supervision to all bureau staff
- Identifies bureau priorities and monitors work flow to ensure deadlines are met and assignments complete
- Participates in the development and on-going review/modification of DHSS strategic plan, applicable rules & statutes
- Analyzes and evaluates policies and operations on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance and reasonable adherence to industry standards
- Considers recommendations from industry and staff to develop new regulations, policies and procedures as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
Travel will be required with possible overnight stays and overtime.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (substitutions may be permitted);
- Five year’s relevant experience;
- Strong critical thinking and leadership skills;
- Demonstrates and can provide evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skill;
- Ideal candidate will have knowledge of the administrative rule making process, as well as an understanding of the legislative process.
- Ideal candidate will possess a current license as an EMT-Paramedic in the State of Missouri.
