Job Summary: This position serves the library through administrative and library specific tasks such as Inter-Library Loan and the processing and payment of invoices. There is a strong public facing component to this position as well, which includes working on the front desk, assisting the community with borrowing library materials, offering recommendations, assisting with the computer lab and library office machinery as needed. This position provides the public excellent customer service and must be able to promote the library and its mission.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift items weighing up to 30 lbs. Must be able to verbally communicate with people in person and over the telephone. Must be able to type from handwritten or printed materials using computers. Must be able to stoop to the lowest shelving and reach up to the six-foot shelving.
Other Aspects of the Job: Must comply with and follow established rules and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must be familiar with computer and Office Suite Software. Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Punctuality and regular attendance are required. Must have and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record. Must satisfactorily complete a one-year probation period.
