Definition and Class Characteristics
Nevada County is seeking an Administrative Services Associate in the Health & Human Services Agency Administration, supporting the Behavioral Health Department! Come and join a team of highly skilled professionals who are working together to provide coverage for cold weather shelter to serve our unhoused neighbors. This role will include client working directly with shelter guests, supporting with linkage to resources, and ensuring all guests feel safe and welcomed in the shelter space. The majority of the shifts with these positions will be scheduled in the evening and early morning hours. This role directly supports the mission of HHSA by performing these duties:
Provide coverage for Emergency Warming Center shifts
- Client outreach
- Maintaining client safety and safety of building
- Provide crisis intervention and support
- Conducts intakes and provides assessments.
- Completes all documentation in a timely manner.
- Serves as link between client and resources.
- Provides reporting and tracking information for data management systems.
- Supports program needs and activities
This position is temporary, part-time. A temporary, part-time employee typically works on average 20-24 hours but not more than 29 hours per week, for a maximum of 1000 hours per fiscal year. Temporary employees earn sick leave but are not eligible for other vacation or holiday pay, and are not eligible for CalPERS, medical, dental, or vision benefits. This position is expected to work primarily during winter weather events. This would include prolonged snowstorms and other sever weather, when work hours could increase to 40 hours in a week.

Sick Leave:
Temporary County employees shall accrue at the rate of one (1) hour of sick leave for each thirty (30) hours worked. Temporary County employees can accrue a maximum of 48 hours of sick leave per fiscal year.
Medical Benefits:
Temporary employees whose assignments average 30 hours per week or more are eligible to enroll in County-sponsored medical benefits.
