Summary of Position

This position is responsible for the overall management and operational direction of the Medical Imaging Services of Saratoga Hospital; inclusive of those on the hospital’s main campus and any off-site locations that have imaging modalities. The Administrative Director, in collaboration with senior leadership and the Chair of Radiology, develops the strategic plan for Medical Imaging to ensure that the organization is maintaining high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-centric services. The Administrative Director will identify and develop new business opportunities and maintain awareness of technological advancements and community needs. This leader develops and implements the departmental goals and objectives and ensures that they are consistent with the Hospital’s mission, vision, values and principles.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Operations: Responsible for directing day-to-day operations at all Saratoga Hospital Medical Imaging Facilities to insure intra and inter department efforts, process and systems support.
  • Human Resource Management: Promotes, with the assistance of the MI leadership team, a team-oriented environment, while always putting patients first. Facilitating the delivery of exceptional customer service and quality outcomes.
  • Strategic Planning: Works with department staff and leadership to establish goals and identify opportunities essential for continued imaging growth. Monitors current markets for improvement opportunities, in an effort to remain competitive. Researches opportunities to bring new imaging modalities and programs to the organization
  • Project Management: Provides leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of all Medical Imaging projects. Takes the lead by providing direction to the imaging team in the implementation of new or enhanced services. Communicates with key organizational leaders and customers to ensure understanding of new programs.
  • Fiscal Management: Develops monitors and controls departmental budgets, new equipment acquisition. Develops business plans and monitors reimbursement trends.
  • Physician relationships: Maintains and promotes positive physician relationships, to include work with the radiologist group and provider customers.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Medical Imaging Leadership team, members of all Saratoga Hospital Medical Imaging facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Training & Experience

  • A minimum of seven years’ experience in a management capacity is required. Significant clinical experience in Radiological Technology is required. Degree/Diploma in Radiologic Technology is required. Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in Business, Health Administration or related field is preferred.

Certifications / Licensure

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registry (ARRT) required. Certification in at least one-specialty fields (i.e. CT, MRI, or Mammography. Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) desired.

  • Able to perform high level conceptual analysis, formulate plans and implement.
  • Able to prepare complex reports, memoranda and other written materials.
  • Understands, interprets and applies laws, rules, regulations and policies related to assigned area.

  • Able to multitask and prioritize.
  • Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team.

  • Strong working knowledge of hospital industry, key issues, trends and opportunities.
  • Effective leadership skills of delegation.
  • Familiar with TJC, and other relevant regulatory agencies, standards compliance requirements in assigned areas.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: $120,000-$180,000
Pay Grade: 99
Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to: overall experience and qualifications, shift, and location.
