POSITION DETAILS
- Oversee and evaluate overall auxiliary services across campus to ensure the academic community's needs are met.
- ldentify and secure new revenue generating opportunities for KCC and work with vendors to negotiate financial support of new projects/initiatives.
- Oversee and participate in new initiatives and commercial ventures at KCC and in collaboration with CUNY.
- Develop, recommend, and implement auxiliary service operations goals and objectives to ensure top-quality and financially efficient services.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through management and oversight of our vendor and service partner relationships.
- Draft independent service contracts.
- Organize major events, functions and conferences on campus, including working with other campus units to coordinate venues, setup, food, parking, etc.
- Oversee the legal, safety, fiscal, and other compliance requirements related to campus spaces designated for public assembly.
- Oversee matters relating to the scheduling and efficient use of space on campus.
- Manages relationships between the Center and College academic and administrative departments, including but not limited to, Buildings and Grounds, Public Safety, On Stage at Kingsborough, Events Management, Information Technology, and the Office of Student Life.
- Cultivates relationships with external customers
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and six years' relevant experience required.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
Oversees planning and coordination of a variety of events to meet Campus or University goals.
- Manages an ongoing calendar of events and creates overall scheduling plans for Campus facilities.
- Works with Campus units or executives, student groups, and outside organizations to develop event concepts, plan detailed programs, and orchestrate successful logistical arrangements to enhance program success.
- Prepares and manages budgets; manages contracts and ongoing vendor arrangements.
- Prepares and manages guest lists, invitations, and arrangements for featured guests and speakers.
- Coordinates with marketing, communications, development, and public relations staffs to develop and execute effective event marketing plans.
- Develops expertise in state-of-the-art technology and media support; arranges for the most appropriate equipment, and assures staff receive appropriate training.
- Prepares event briefing documents for key executives and media relations personnel.
- May supervise a permanent staff, as well as staff hired to operate large events.
- Reports to senior management on the success of events, including financial outcomes.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
