The UNM-Valencia Campus Upward Bound Program is seeking an Administrative Assistant 1 or 2 who will serve as the main contact for this college preparatory program which provides personal, academic, and career counseling for high school students. This program is a grant-funded position with current funding available through 08/31/2024.
This individual will be the main contact for departmental support, coordinating the departmental functions and inquiries, maintaining a variety of files and records, reconciling fiscal administration for the unit, including, but not limited to monthly budget , time sheet collection, travel, and/or purchasing for the department. The individual will maintain inventories for department assets and product inventories associated with internal services. The Admin Assistant creates, composes, and edits written materials and ensures coverage in the office.
Applicants will be considered for both the Administrative Assistant 1 or 2. Determination of level placement for the successful candidate will be based on the years of related experience and relevant information obtained throughout the recruitment process.
Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. - If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.

High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
- Experience with Banner or similar enterprise platform
- Experience with Chromeriver or similar purchasing/expenditure software
- Experience in accompanying students on service projects/cultural trips
- Experience working with youth or youth programming
- English/Spanish bilingual (speak/read/write)
