WLAC seeks a part time, non-tenured Head Coach for Football to manage the Football program and teach fall and spring term Kinesiology Athletic classes: (1) Football Skills class and (1) Football Strength and Conditioning class. The successful candidate will report to the Athletics Director and is responsible for all aspects of planning, managing, and directing a successful Community College program; including coaching, practice and game preparation, recruiting, academic matriculation, placement, developing positive player-coach relationships, budget management, team travel, public relations, fund-raising, marketing, promotions, scheduling, rules compliance and other duties as assigned.
The position is for the 2024-2025 season but will require the candidate to begin student recruitment and training in the Spring 2024. The position is a part‐time adjunct coaching assignment in the Athletic Department and continuation of the assignment is contingent upon funding and professional performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience, which must be directly related to the teaching assignment; OR
- Associate’s degree and six years of professional experience, which must be directly related to the teaching assignment;
- A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of district faculty, staff, and students.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS – ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT AND COVID 19 VACCINATIONS:
A medical certificate indicating fitness to engage in administrative work is required for new employees at the applicant’s expense prior to employment.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful candidates must show a competence with the CCCAA athletic rules and regulations.
- Degrees in Education, Physical Education, Exercise Sciences or Kinesiology are encouraged but not required.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
This position is paid at the contractual hourly rate during the season of competition for 10-standard teaching hours, plus a $17,900 stipend for out-of-class activities.
