This Adjunct Faculty member teaches Medical Assisting courses.
Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Teaches in lecture, laboratory and/or clinical settings
- Evaluates and advises students
- Participates in departmental and College affairs
- Develops curricula
- Recruits students
- Serves on committees
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- Associate's degree and Valid National Licensure in Medical Assisting and / or Licensure in a Healthcare field (e.g., Nursing; Physician; Emergency Medical Services; Physician Assistant) and three (3) years of full-time work and/or instructional experience in a Healthcare field (e.g. Nursing; Physician; Emergency Medical Services; Medical Assisting; Physician Assistant).
- All educational degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions
- Current licensure as Medical Assistant or licensure in related health care field
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
- Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
- Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include morning, evening and/or weekend assignments
- Must be able to travel between campuses, clinical sites and off-campus offering sites
