JOB DESCRIPTION
The therapist fulfills direct service, including individual, couple/family and group psychotherapy, consultations, and crisis intervention.
Competencies:
- Proficient in computer based EMR
- Knowledge in CBT and DBT
- Group presentation skills
- Assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Will be licensed, certified, or registered to obtain certification pursuant to the California Code of Regulations, Chapter 8, Section 13035 (f).
- A Masters or Doctorate degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or social science. Licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Science as an LCSW, MFT, AMFT, or by the Board of Psychology as a licensed Psychologist. Minimum of two years experience in evaluating and/or treating persons suffering from mental illness and/or substance abuse. Prior supervisory experience.
- Must provide and maintain a current record of TB testing
- Must provide and maintain a current record of CPR and First Aid training and testing
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of drug and alcohol dependency, mental health, family systems and 12 step/recovery resources in the community.
- Maintain appropriate documentation as required.
- Conduct assessments of residents at the time of admission and re-assessments as required.
- Conduct mental status examinations.
- Provide appropriate diagnoses and treatment recommendations based on a review of the resident’[s history, signs, and symptoms.
- Provide individual, couple/family, and group psychotherapy as needed.
- Ability to demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of residents and staff.
- Crises intervention services, including 5150 determinations.
- Treatment Planning.
- Participation in Case Conference Reviews.
- Provide Utilizations Reviews as required.
- Knowledge of current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements, professional boundaries, and relate issues.
- Provide in-service training to staff and/or trainee on mental health topics as needed.
- Knowledge of the philosophy and approach of the 12-step model of recovery (AA, CA,NA,Alanon).
