Unit Specialty
For Critical Access Hospital
- Obtains 12- lead Electrocardiograms (ECGs)
- Trains and performs the mechanics of Telemetry monitoring of patients within the inpatient unit.
- Becomes a Point of Care Trainer within 3 months of obtaining CNA II
- Cross trains to additional areas of the hospital (Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery, and Surgical Department) for fluidity of staffing
- Cross trains to the Senior Office Specialist (SOS)/ Ward Clerk positions to understand and be able to perform the position in times of high census or vacancy.
- Initiates and participates in a Performance/Process Improvement project within the unit.
- Serves as preceptor for incoming CNA staff and CNA students.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- 1 year prior experience as a CNA preferred
Certificates and License
- Current full, unrestricted CNA license in the state of Alaska
- Current BLS
- Must take and pass courses as specific to unit needs (i.e. POC/waived testing, etc.)
