Great American's Crop Division is looking for a curious and driven individual to join the Actuarial and Analytics team. As one of the largest Crop insurers in the country, Great American is recognized as a leader in this specialized marketplace. The Actuarial and Analytics team provides analysis to inform strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Participates in creation and generations of dashboards, reports, and data extracts.
- Extracts and integrates data from various databases to analyze and develop reports and spreadsheets.
- Assists in Actuarial Research, performs systems updates, and develops new reports and output files.
- Provides for and maintains information for financial forecasts, rating, reserving, rating regulatory filings and ad hoc requests.
- Builds predictive models using multiple statistical and machine learning techniques.
- Develops working knowledge of department policies and procedures, as well as the business and organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Field of Study: Actuarial Science, Agricultural Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
- Experience with Excel, R, SQL, or similar programming languages.
