Job description

Location: This position is located at our Dublin, OH campus with hybrid flexibility.

We are open to new/upcoming graduates anticipating a degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance or equivalent. Targeting start date in May of 2024 or earlier. Also, open to an internship spring semester, converting to full time after graduation.

The Actuarial Analyst will provide accurate and timely in-depth research and analysis evaluating the impact of care coordination practices as well as providing support for prospects and clients. The role will communicate results to leadership, operations, sales and client executives, as well as external business partners.

 

What you’ll do

  • Perform cost projections and savings calculations. Discuss results with external parties to achieve agreement in target-setting and claim reconciliation methodologies.
  • Support sales and account management with fee proposals, savings estimates, and discussion of Quantum Health’s impact with prospective clients.
  • Develop detailed and frequent actuarial studies on large client claims database, to assist with the determination of the effectiveness of care coordination. 
  • Analyze cost drivers by reviewing client's cost/utilization data and year-over-year trends.  Work with account management and client reporting teams to provide quarterly and ad-hoc client deliverables. Assist in ensuring deliverables meet best practices reporting in the industry.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, finance or equivalent
  • 1-3 Actuarial Exams Passed: Actively seeking ASA credential through the Society of Actuaries
  • Preferred: 1-2 Years Relevant Actuarial Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytic approaches to create meaningful and measurable business impact.
  • Prior experience in organizing and analyzing large datasets using database software packages such as SQL.
  • Interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.
