Activity Assistant

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Assistant to join our team. As an Activity Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing engaging activities. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in social work, recreational therapy, or dementia care.

Duties:

- Plan and organize a variety of recreational activities for residents, taking into consideration their interests and abilities

- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed

- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents

- Lead group activities such as games, crafts, exercise classes, and outings

- Collaborate with other staff members to create a stimulating and inclusive environment

- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress

- Assist in scheduling and coordinating events and programs

- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents during activities

Qualifications:

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to connect with individuals of varying cognitive abilities and backgrounds

- Knowledge of assisted living or nursing home care is a plus

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with residents

- Ability to adapt to changing needs and situations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
