Form of workThe Clear Lake Community School District is searching for a dynamic and highly motivated educational leader to serve as our next Activity Director. The Clear Lake school system serves over 1,400 students in the community of Clear Lake. Located on Interstate 35, just 90 minutes north of the Des Moines area and two hours south of Minneapolis.
The school district has the ability to offer everything students want and need, but still has the small town feel and commitment to our students, families, and community members. Clear Lake School District is one of very few districts in North Iowa that has increased enrollment over the last five years, with an increase in open enrollment into the district of 120 students. Clear Lake also has the unique opportunity of being on a beautiful lake.

The district is committed to the continued growth of STEM/PLTW programs at all levels.
Clear Creek Elementary has been recognized by Project Lead the Way (PLTW) as a PLTW Launch Distinguished School the last two years. The district has recently invested over $15 million dollars into athletic facilities. Built an 81,000 square foot Wellness Center that has a 200-meter indoor track and five basketball courts, expanded the high school weight room and wrestling room, new turf football field, bleachers and press box, softball bleachers, press box along with new BA/SB restrooms and concession stand and new vestibule/gym entrance.
Ideal candidates will have a strong background in leadership and activities. Candidates must also be highly collaborative and demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. This position would be responsible for the supervision and leadership activities for grades 7-12.
Qualifications Profile: Master's Degree in School Administration, preferred Iowa BoEE Administrator License with a PK-12, 5-12 or PK-8 Endorsement, preferred Valid Evaluator Endorsement or Evaluator License, preferred Five (5) years successful experience as a coach in a minimum of two (2) different sports A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience preferably at the 7-12th grade level Courses in organization and administration of athletic and activity programs or other appropriate areas, preferred Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable Proficient technology skills to include, but not limited to, Google Suite Effective oral and written communication skillsTerms of Employment: 260-day contract; salary and benefits based on experience and qualificationsStart date: 07/01/2024 All applications must be completed online through our district website: www.clearlakeschools.org >Menu>Employment>Applying for an Opening Deadline: December 31, 2023Questions and inquiries should be directed to Doug Gee, Superintendent of Schools
