We are seeking a Part-Time Activities Coordinator for our Assisted Living Community!Schedule: Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays (16 hours)

Under the direction of the Assisted Living Program Coordinator, the Activity Assistant will be responsible for the organization, implementation, supervision of residents in activities, and documentation of resident attendance records. The Activity Assistant shall make every effort to meet the comprehensive needs and interest of all the residents in Assistant Living.

Job Requirements

  • Implementation of the resident Individualized Service Plan as it relates to senior adult residents.  This includes maintaining confidentiality, promote participation of the resident in activities of choice as documented on the Individualized Service Plan., maintains documentation of attendance records for all Activities, and provides one-to-one visitation/activities as assigned by Program Coordinator.
  • Conducting and leading a resident activity by maintaining daily schedules, develop monthly calendar, distribute newsletters, set up and clean up timely for scheduled activities, coordinate volunteer workers and maintain a safe environment during activities.
  • Responsible for obtaining supplies for assigned activity.
  • Handling money and receipts that are required by the billing.
  • Follow procedures of the community Program Dept.
  • Assists with transporting residents to and from in-house activities and assist with off-campus activities as directed by Program Coordinator. 
  • Supporting the Home like environment in Assistant Living:
  • Maintains neatness, organization, of resident common areas (magazines, puzzles, flowers, etc.); maintains seasonal decorations in the Assisted Living assigned area in a timely and appropriate manner, as required.
  • Ensure that the daily mail is delivered as needed, assist in reading mail and writing letters as requested.
  • Maintain Assisted Living pets and required pet care documentation as well as cleaning of pet areas in a timely manner.
  • Participates in continuing education programs for self-improvement and to ensure high quality care to residents.

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to maintain and strengthen good working relationships within departments, with staff, and with residents.
  • Having experience working with the geriatric population is preferred.
  • Must have good organizational, time management, and record keeping skills.
  • Knowledgeable of various resident limitations and needs.
  • Be able to work in close cooperation with the Assisted Living Program Coordinator, accept and utilize constructive criticism, and display initiative to complete activity related tasks and programs.
  • Will require patience, creativity, punctuality, dependability, flexibility, enthusiasm, and the ability to work one on one with Assisted Living residents.
  • Computer skills are required.
  • Must be able to work with residents with varying degrees of cognitive and physical impairment.
