The Activities Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the planning, organizing, and implementing of recreational activities for our facility's residents. They will work closely with the Activities Director to ensure a variety of engaging programs are available to promote social interaction, physical health, and mental stimulation.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications a plus
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Empathy and compassion for the elderly and individuals with diverse needs
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
**Responsibilities:**
- Assist in the creation and implementation of a diverse activities program schedule
- Encourage resident participation in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities
- Provide support during activities to ensure resident safety and enjoyment
- Help set up and clean up activity areas as needed
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and participation
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members regarding scheduled activities
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods
- Capable of lifting and carrying equipment and supplies as needed
- Comfortable engaging in physical activities with residents
**Work Environment:**
The Activities Assistant will primarily work indoors within our facility's activity areas. They may also assist with outings and special events as needed. This role involves frequent interaction with residents, families, and staff members.
