JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Acts as a positive representative of the facility at all times. Interacts with residents, families, staff and other visitors to the facility in a pleasant, respectful and courteous manner.
2. Assist in developing a monthly social program calendar that includes a variety of programs to meet the needs and interests of the residents, including religious services.
3. Assist in obtaining and compiling information regarding individual residents’ history, preferences, precautions and other pertinent relevant information, as directed.
4. Assist in the development and implementation of individual therapeutic programs and group programs, as directed.
5. Lead planned recreational activities and programs that stimulate the physical, psychosocial, affective and cognitive domains.
6. Work as a team member with other Activities Department staff, facility personnel, volunteers and community representatives to deliver the highest quality services to the residents.
7. Assist in the transporting of residents to and from Activity programs, social events, field trips, etc. as well as transferring needs during programs and activities.
8. Assist in documentation as required in individual resident records.
9. Assist in the orientation and training of volunteers.
10. Comply with all administrative resident care, and personnel policies and procedures.
11. Assist with monthly calendar and newsletter.
12. Participates in evening and weekend programs as directed.
13. Participates in Staff Development and continuing education programs.
14. Demonstrates knowledge and adheres to all Residents’ Rights regulations.
15. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency policies and procedures.
16. Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner; assures that safety regulations are followed at all times by all personnel.
17. Reports all hazardous conditions and equipment to the Supervisor. Reports all accidents/incidents as established by department policies.
18. Reports any and all exposures in accordance with OSHA guidelines and department policies and procedures.
19. Provides privacy and maintains the confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
20. Follow established Infection Control policies and procedures at all times.
21. Ensures care and security of resident personal possessions.
22. Reports all complaints and grievances made by residents, family members and visitors to the Administrator.
23. Ensures the residents are free from abuse (physical, mental and sexual), mistreatment and neglect, and reports any such incidents to appropriate staff.
24. Attends all in-service education programs mandated by facility, state and federal guidelines.
25. Adhere to facility and department dress code policy at all times.
26. Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement Program as required.
27. Any other duties as deemed necessary or appropriate by the Activities Director and/or Administrator.
