Accounts Receivable Manager

iFixit has outgrown our old systems. We've created a new position that we have never had on our Finance & Accounting Team so we can take A/R to new heights. Our Finance & Accounting Team has been scrappy and made it work for a very long time. The flood of success has overwhelmed us and we need you. Come step into our fast-paced, slightly crazy team and help us level-up. This will not be an easy job. It might even be chaos at times. The goal is to wrangle the A/R beast and end up with an optimized workflow, quality data, and a progress that integrates with the company's operations.

The Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire Accounts Receivable function within the organization. This role entails managing the incoming funds, ensuring timely and accurate billing, maintaining customer relationships, and overseeing the collection processes. The A/R Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and cash flow of the company.

Receivables Management:

• Oversee and streamline invoicing and collection processes.
• Accurately record short pays, chargebacks, and credits in coordination with sales teams.
• Coordinate closely with the Customer Operations team on customer relations, refunds, credits, and accommodations.
• Ensure timely and accurate billing of services and products.
• Resolve open sales orders or unbilled item or service fulfillments in coordination with D2C and B2B teams.

Cash Management:

• Manage and reconcile incoming payments, ensuring accurate recording in financial systems.
• Forecast and report on cash flow related to Accounts Receivable.

Credit Control:

• Assess and manage credit risk and customer credit profiles.
• Develop credit policies and procedures to minimize bad debts.

Compliance and Reporting:

• Prepare regular reports and analyses on Accounts Receivable status.
• Ensure customer compliance with Reseller exemption(s).
• Regular validation of Accounts Receivable, including customer credits.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement new systems and technologies as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or a similar finance role, with experience managing an accounting function.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficient in accounting software and systems, with a keen aptitude for learning new technologies.
• Strong communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office.
