The Billing Specialist is responsible for working closely with the accounts receivable, customer service, and sales personnel to ensure accuracy and timeliness of customer invoicing, including reconciliation and submission of invoicing in customer and third-party billing portals and maintenance of customer billing changes.
Responsibilities
• Submit daily customer invoices in various customer and third-party billing portals.
• Identify variances between invoice records and customer purchase orders and communicate to appropriate internal parties.
• Verify receipt of invoices and troubleshoot items rejected by portals.
• Maintain accurate records of invoicing submitted for internal reporting.
• Process summary billing for selected customers and review for accuracy against system records.
• Answer accounts receivable inquiries and follow up as necessary.
• Communicate with internal departments and external customers as required in an effective and clear manner to facilitate timely and accurate customer invoicing.
• Maintain changes to customer billing settings and further the initiative to move all customers to paperless billing.
• Process sales tax corrections, as required.
• Work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a strong attention to detail.
• Assist with related special projects and other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
• Some college or technical school
•One plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of portal billing preferred.
• Microsoft Office with emphasis on Outlook, Excel, Nuance and/or Adobe, and Word.
