Great Plains Communications is growing! We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented person to fill the position of Accounts Payable Supervisor. This position can be hybrid remote after on-boarding and training is completed in our Blair, NE office.
This position will be responsible for:
Oversee activities and operations in the Accounts Payable (AP) department including all personnel functions for that department. Runs invoice payments and annual 1099 filings. Approves vendor master file changes, authorization hierarchy changes, and various recurring invoices. Understands use tax requirements to assist in properly recording invoices. Handles escalations from AP Specialist.
JOB DUTIES:
- Supervises Accounts Payable function
- Performs personnel activities such as hiring, terminating, promoting, training, evaluating, etc. for Accounts Payable Associate.
- Ensures timely processing and payment of invoices in conjunction with good cash management practices
- Processes daily and weekly ACH and check disbursements
- Manages vendor master file
- Keeps approval authorization hierarchy up to date
- Administers expense reporting processing and standards
- Reviews for enhancements or streamlining efficiencies
- Understands sales and use tax rules and regulations
- Assists in resolving escalations from AP Specialists
- Aids other departments, responding to AP questions and escalations
- Supervises the monthly close process for Accounts Payable
- Completes annual 1099/1096 process and reporting requirements
- Processes invoices as back-up if needed
- Maintains department procedure manual and updates as needed
Associates Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
3-5 Years Accounts Payable experience
3-5 Years Supervisory experience (AP Supervisory preferred)
