Job Description
The client has a job opening for an Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist for its Baltimore location. Reporting to the AP/Cash Applications Manager, the AP Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of invoice and payment reporting. This position will be a hybrid role reporting into the Baltimore office 1-2 days a week, with the ability to work from home the remaining days.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter invoices in accounting software (Deltek Costpoint)
- Ensure proper coding of invoices in accordance with the financial reporting structure.
- Acquire proper approvals for all invoice transactions.
- Assist in completing payment runs (checks, wires, ACH, etc)
- Work daily with multiple currencies (invoices and payments)
- Ad hoc reporting and research involving invoices and payments.
- Replying to inquiries from internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Accurately record intercompany transactions among various JH subsidiary entities
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Accounts Payable Specialist who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Accounts Payable Specialist would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- The successful candidate will have 3+ years of professional work experience and an HS diploma (a college degree is a plus)
- Experience in processing multi-currency invoices.
- Proven ability to code invoices to complex, multi-segment GL accounting string including project-based invoices.
- Proficiency with MS Office (particularly Excel)
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint is a plus.
