Job Summary
The Restaurant Accounting Supervisor will supervise the day-to-day operations of onsite and offshore team members supporting restaurant accounting functions. This position will support several accountant team members and possibly an analyst. The supervisor will also support tasks around MenuLink Inventory review, research, and analysis, as well as oracle systems and application integrations and knowledge; training of restaurant accounting team members; and sales accounting.
This position requires knowledge of restaurant-level accounting processes, the ability to multi-task, to solve problems and requires a high level of customer service as it requires interaction with restaurant managers, franchise partners, internal team members and third-party service providers.
Your Key Job Functions
* Supervise, lead, coach, train and motivate a diverse team of accounting professionals (onshore and offshore) to ensure timely and accurate recording of restaurant and brand level revenues and expenses.
* Supervise the timely and efficient month-end closing process to ensure accuracy of individual restaurant and brand level financial data
* Work with internal and external IT partners to ensure data movement timeliness & accuracy
* Ensure timely and accurate reporting of corporate restaurant sales
* Provide a thorough review of restaurant metrics to ensure accuracy of Inventory and Cost of Sales
* Work closely with Brand Operations and Brand Finance teams regarding sales, expenses, inventory and actual vs theoretical cost of sales
* Perform analysis to determine appropriate accounting of certain rebates
* Analyze, evaluate and implement, as necessary, previously identified process improvements related to the Restaurant Accounting process and perform quality and control audit reviews of all processes in assigned area
* Be an Accounting liaison to internal and external parties as it relates to MenuLink and Cost of Sales
* Represent Restaurant Accounting on project teams
* Ensure SOX compliance and manage internal and external audits
What You Bring to the Team
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
* 4-6 Years in an accounting role with supervisory experience preferred
* Self-motivated and customer service oriented, with ability to work independently, as well as, collaboratively with a team.
* Excellent communication skills both verbal & written
* Strong leadership and relationship building skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
* Align day-to-day operations of the team with the company's goals ensuring alignment, along with consistent & appropriate controls to deliver quality data
* The ability to think/act strategically and find ways to improve current processes
* Ability to communicate professionally and with multiple levels of the organization as well as many external contacts
* Experience with Oracle, MenuLink, and Insight a plus
