Form of workPurpose of the Position:
The Accounting Specialist performs a range of routine accounting activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing accounting support to accounting supervisor and CFO.
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
Generate and distribute vendor PO's.
Process and track vendor invoices and approvals
Address and resolve vendor invoice discrepancies and issues.
Reconcile vendor statements.
Process payables check run.
Generate and distribute customer invoices.
Address and resolve customer invoice discrepancies and issues.
Work with Business Systems Team to ensure systems accuracy.
Assist in collecting past due invoices.
Input vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records.
Work proactively to promote teamwork at all levels within the Organization.
Actively assist in continuous improvement activities and offer positive suggestions for improvements and innovations.
Communicate with coworkers, management, staff, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required
Understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Comfortable in self-directed environment
Strong organizational and communication skills
Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy, able to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Ability to operate in a dynamic and changing environment.
