OWC is searching for an Accounting Specialist to help OWC ensure effective management of both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Our Accounting Specialist is a problem solver, who play a critical role in the success of OWC.
Our accounting team members are the backbone of our organization, and this role will help continue to lay the foundation for a strong financial future and provide the opportunity to advance into higher-level roles based on tenure and performance. What Will You be Doing?
For Accounts Receivable (AR):

Audit all credit memos for the prior month to date, including Pay Pal, Amazon, advanced replacements, and shipping claims.

Process necessary refunds and rebates to credit cards, Pay Pal, Amazon, and term accounts.

Cancel pending sales orders with expired authorizations.

Capture funds and apply them to appropriate sales orders using the ERP system.

Review purchase orders (POs) and manually release term orders.

Review and release sales orders for advanced replacements and shipping claims.

Apply shipping claim credit memos with refunds from shipping carriers.

Process write-offs and create journal entries.

Analyze Tax Jurisdiction Exceptions.

Review and manage Days Sales Outstanding.

Review the Aging report on a weekly basis.

Assist with new credit applications.

Process collections and manage credit holds.

Process Wire Transfers and handle daily check deposits.

Manage Chargebacks.

For Accounts Payable (AP):

Process any incoming and outgoing mail.

Scan all invoices to AP email.

Scan Packing Slips to the Network.

Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.

Prioritize invoice entry according to payment terms.

Process invoices (PO and manual, per terms and coding/PO provided), expense reports, check requests, etc., through the appropriate system for future payment.

Review and process same-day payment requests.

Process Amex statement POs in ERP.

Process weekly payment run, including check run, wire transfers, NACHA file, ACH payments, and CC payments.

Send remittance advice to vendors after electronic payments are processed.

Process vendor statements.

Assist with EDI, rebates, refunds, and Amazon SF credits.

Update Tax-exempt status in the system and file certificates accordingly.

Prepare checks for deposit.

Work on any pending projects assigned.

What Will You Bring with You?

• Experience in Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable.
• Proficiency in Mac operating systems is a plus.

• Strong work ethic and a self-driven approach to tasks.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Intermediate level Excel skills required; experience with large ERPs is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, and multitasking abilities.

• Thorough knowledge of applicable accounts receivable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts, and corporate procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional demeanor when interacting with employees and vendors.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Compensation Structure for the Position
The compensation package for this role includes a base salary starting between $45,000-55,000 annually.
