Open Door Ministries exists to provide practical help and hope to people in urban Denver who are homeless or low income. Our primary objective is to move people toward self-sufficiency by helping change the circumstances and life patterns that have held them captive to poverty and addictions. Through four focus areas (housing, children & youth, employment, and outreach), we provide tangible needs like food, shelter, access to education and employment training, as well as intangible needs such as friendship, hope, and Christian spiritual guidance. Title of Position

Accounting Office Assistant

Supervisor: Business Director

Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Compensation: Hourly; $21.45/hr-$33.54/hr

Job purpose

The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Business and Development offices of ODM.

Duties and responsibilities

· Assist Business Office as needed with e-mails, phone calls, voice mail, reports, communications, filing, scanning and other administrative tasks

· Process accounts payable transactions

· Verify accuracy of reimbursement reports

· Obtain approvals on expenses

· Input deposit transactions

· Provide support for audits as needed

· Cross-train and assist with other accounting duties as needed

· Inventory office supplies

· Assist with ODM fundraising events

· All staff will be required to participate in a fundraising activity an average of one hour per week (see staff handbook for more details.)

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High level of computer skills including knowledge of Quickbooks Desktop, Microsoft Word and Excel, Google docs, and Certify would be preferred, good communication skills, good people skills, ability to be flexible and learn quickly, commitment to excellence, and attention to detail.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

· Work environment is indoors with some outside activity

· This job involves sitting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs

· This job involves lifting up to 10 pounds

· This position is an in-office position

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.45 - $33.54 per hour
