THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Accounting Manager works closely with the Controller and other organizational leadership to ensure that all financial and payroll functions are completed in a timely and accurate fashion.
WHAT YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO:
These include the following for MHN (a 501(c)(3) non-profit) and all subsidiaries, and MHN ACO, LLC (a for-profit Accountable Care Organization formed by MHN). Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Responsible for timely and accurate preparation and execution of month-end and year-end close activities, including oversight of all journal entries and reconciliations and preparation of financial statements
- Responsible for annual audit preparation and tax return preparation (in conjunction with outside experts)
- Liaison to Finance Department to assist with contracting, pricing and invoicing
- Provide oversight and supervision of entire multistate payroll function, including ability to process payroll independently as needed
- Review and approval of accounts payable invoices for all entities.
- Responsible for working through daily accounting related mail or emails or tasks assigned by Controller or CFO.
- Act as in-house expert on ERP software, including report writing
- Provide extensive and timely financial analysis for all companies, including dashboarding
- Assist finance with preparing annual and project budgets and provide timely and accurate analysis
- Responsible for development and maintenance of and reporting on financial projections
- Responsible for development and maintenance of and reporting on cash flow projections
- Supervise and develop Staff Accountant
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business required
- CPA certification preferred
- At least 7 years of experience in accounting, preferably with for-profit, non-profit and grant- based entities
- Healthcare and or insurance experience preferred
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and accounting software applications
- Strong technology orientation preferred
- Proficiency with Net Suite preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and be a collaborative team member
- Detail-oriented and willingness to be involved in daily activity
- Ability to work well with internal staff and external contacts
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Entrepreneurial or start-up experience a plus
