Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:
This position handles most day-to-day accounting responsibilities - including both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, as well as financial reporting and analysis for multiple properties. Will assist CFO with any special project requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Classifies, summarizes and records transactions in the financial management system, including journal entries, debits, and credits in accordance with required accounting standards.
• Performs bank reconciliation of all accounts.
• Maintains multiple properties general ledgers.
• Monthly Invoicing of Sub-tenants
• Complete All Sales Tax Returns
• Performs monthly closing procedures, including monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
• Assists CFO with year-end audits and tax return preparation
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
• Year End 1099's
• Support Payroll and Benefits as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred but will consider level of experience
• Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet and MS Office
• Able to work independently, self-motivated, takes ownership
