Accounting Manager
Katz Jewish Community Center, Cherry Hill New Jersey (“JCC”)
Summary:
- The Katz Jewish Community Center (“JCC”) has an annual budget of $17 million and is a wholly owned agency of the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey (“JFED”).
- The Accounting Manager will lead all day-to-day finance operations and supervise a team of four staff members which includes functional responsibility overseeing accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- The Accounting Manager will ensure that the JCC has the systems and procedures in place to support effective program implementation and support the external audit process.
- The Accounting Manager will work closely with program leaders and their staff, not only to educate them regarding finance and accounting procedures, but also to explore how the finance function can support program operations.
- The Accounting Manager will partner with the JFED CFO, JCC Executive Director and JCC senior leadership to enhance and better integrate finance into the overall JCC business operations.
Specific Responsibilities:
Finance and Accounting Leadership
- Oversee all accounting, general ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
- Report and assess the Key Performance Indicators to the JCC Leadership Team and Finance Committee.
- Support the coordination of the audit activity.
- Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist the JCC’s leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
- Oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting to ensure that revenue and expenditures are in alignment with grant and program budgets.
General Qualifications:
This is an extraordinary opportunity for an experienced professional with five to ten years of accounting, general ledger activity and finance experience, ideally beginning in accounting and audit, followed by experience gathering, evaluating, presenting, and reporting financial information.

- Minimum of a BA in Accounting or Finance
- Solid experience managing financial reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger and payroll.
- Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board or outside partners.
- Strong technical skills in excel, pivot tables, power point and graphing.
