Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Manager will lead a team of talented professionals with a broad set of responsibilities across the accounting team and within the Company. The Financial Reporting Manager will utilize a broad knowledge of accounting principles and procedures to lead and coordinate the timely and accurate recording of accounting records and the continued development of operating processes and efficiency. The Accounting Manager leads a team of 2 accountants.
What You Will Do
- Participate in close related activities to ensure complete and accurate financials in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including managing/reviewing close activities such as journal entries and account reconciliations within the established close timeline
- Prepare monthly consolidation and financial reporting under both US GAAP and IFRS. Ensures accurate reporting of information through detailed financial analysis and management of strong internal controls.
- Coordinate with parent company to ensure consistent global reporting.
- Provide guidance to the company’s subsidiaries to ensure consistency in consolidated financial reporting and application of corporate policies.
- Manage technical assessment of unusual / new transactions to ensure compliance with US GAAP/IFRS, internal policies, SOX controls, and external audits.
- Partner with Controller, Director of Accounting and business partners to ensure all new business initiatives are appropriately accounted for and recorded correctly in the general ledger
- Responsible for coordinating and financial accounting of the Company’s stock-based compensation program.
- With a team of two Senior Accountants, manages the treasury, coffee costing, fixed asset, lease accounting functions.
- Hires, trains, and manages the performance of staff and senior accountants, providing ongoing training, feedback and timely performance reviews.
- Primary liaison with external auditors in managing quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Assist with special projects.
Who You Are
- 5+ years' accounting management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA and/or public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, PCAOB standards, and SOX/Internal controls
- Knowledge of accounting systems. Experience with system integrations and development of automated processes, a plus.
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to simultaneously research discrepancies and solve problems
- Superior organizational, project management and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Financial management experience at a public company preferred.
