Position Overview
This position will be a dynamic role within a fast moving organization and environment. This will be a key member of the accounting team who effectively leads their group by clearly communicating expectations, following through on deliverables, and providing timely and accurate financial information on a monthly basis. This role will also be involved with the innovation, transformation and modernization of processes to bring better efficiencies to the work we do. This position requires an experienced, strategic, and technical self-starter with the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and changing priorities.
Essential Job Functions
Lead the team through the month-end close process to ensure accurate financial information is provided to leadership on a timely basis
Lead the purchase accounting process for newly acquired companies. This includes the conversion of accounting records from the legacy system to our ERP system, as well as completing the working capital statement and facilitating review with the former owner
Lead the integration of newly acquired companies from an accounting perspective. This includes identifying unique aspects of each company and working with the appropriate internal teams to determine effective future processes
Focus on automating all tasks that require manual manipulation by developing a deep understanding of source data and end user needs, and then directing in the design, implementation and oversight of solutions
Ensure balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled and reviewed on a monthly basis
Mentor and develop team members to enhance skill sets and prepare them for advancement opportunities within the organization
Serve as a key resource for special projects with the ability to both lead and provide meaningful contributions as a trusted partner and resource in all aspects of the Company's internal financial processes
Resolve and address general accounting matters and requests from the operational and Field Support Services leadership teams
Prepare ad hoc financial and business analyses as requested
Actively participate in the quarterly and annual financial statement reviews/audit, as well as the annual bank audit
Collaborate cross-functionally within the accounting team and broader Field Support Services organization
Requirements
Masters Degree in Accounting (preferred)
CPA Required
6+ years of relevant work experience, including public accounting experience
Significant knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting, including process improvement and accounting/finance best practices
High capacity for strategic thought and the ability to solve business issues
Working knowledge of advanced data analytics tools
Personable and organized with a strong attention to detail
Must demonstrate that you can work in a hands-on, team driven and high growth environment
Proven ability to coach and develop talent
