Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5 – 10+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance in a manufacturing environment
- Self-starter to problem solve and master account ownership without significant oversight
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, adaptable to change, display accuracy and timeliness, financial and business acumen, high decision quality, professionalism, work independently
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Knowledge and application of Intermediate/Advanced Excel and Intermediate PowerPoint
- ERP experience (Infor)
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations, identify/resolve discrepancies and report financial misstatements in accordance with our accounting policies (GAAP) and SOX controls
- Assist in financial analysis to support the operations team
- Improve and maintain documentation and training materials for assigned responsibilities
- Take part and assist in process improvement initiatives to capture efficiencies in our process
- Understand GAAP and the ability to interpret and apply these standards to determine financial misstatements
- Understand SOX compliance and the ability to ensure our controls are operating effectively and mitigate risk
- Escalate issues to management in a timely manner
- Make sound, timely decisions, balance strategic and tactical goals and objectives
- Initiate projects/process improvements and set timelines and expectations
- Understand corporate objectives at all levels of the organization
- Research issues
- Forecast impact of each solution and implement best solution
- Measure impact after implementation and adapt solution, as necessary
- Apply broad knowledge and experience when addressing complex issues
- Develop and maintain support of audit documentation for internal and exernal auditors
- Attention to detail, organization, accuracy, curiosity, positive energy, and motivation to understand the business is crucial
- Mentor lower-level accountants in accounting concepts; may involve review of the work of others
- Develop strong relationships within the company to collaborate on tasks and company-wide initiatives
- Ability to navigate in times of ambiguity
- Meet attendance and punctuality standards
