As an Accounting Intern at Rose Associates, you'll work closely with our experienced team, gaining hands-on experience in financial management. You'll focus on bank reconciliations, honing your analytical skills and commitment to accuracy. Key Responsibilities
- Utilize bot generated files to reconcile bank statements for multiple properties to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies between bank statements and accounting records, research and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other departments and accounting team members to obtain necessary information for reconciliations and resolve any outstanding items.
- Work with the accounting team for month-end closing processes, including journal entries and financial reporting. Pull reports to assist with the year-end audit.
- Contribute to process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the accounting department.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and accounting standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Must be present on-site, with the ability to move throughout the building, ensuring effective communication with staff, vendors, and visitors.
- Position may be required to perform duties outside their normal responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Proficiency in navigating computers and property management software, to include Microsoft Office. Experience with AVID, ClickPay, Yardi and MRI is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
