These brands compete in the wiper blade, engine repair, hand cleaner, appearance, cleaners & degreasers, tire repair and performance products segments of the automotive aftermarket. ITW Global Brands products are sold in do-it-yourself retailers like Walmart, Target, AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, Dollar General, Home Depot and Tractor Supply. This intern will get a chance to learn the basics of corporate accounting including preparing and recording journal entries, preparing account reconciliation, costing, and accounts receivable. The position requires a highly organized individual capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
The 80:
- Assist in monthly close process.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and accounts reconciliations.
- Assist in performing standard cost updates for items.
- Inventory Management ensure trial balance matches general ledger.
The 20:
- Assist Accounts Receivable in research of customer deductions.
- Review Resale Certificates to ensure we are compliant.
- Review Record Retention documentation and discard any outdated records.
Key Deliverables to Demonstrate Success:
- Ability to book month end journal entries.
- Complete Account Reconciliations
- Update standard cost for items.
- Ability to research and resolve inventory issues.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Accounting or Finance related area.
- Overall GPA of 3.0 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale preferred.
- Understanding of accounting and financial concepts.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- A positive attitude, open to learn in a busy environment.
- Proficient user of the MS Office suite.
- This individual will need to be able to work 15 to 20 hours/ week during standard business hours.
