Accounting Finance Paid Internship

VNA is looking for an ambitious intern who will gain hands on experience and be exposed to many aspects of the company's day to day activities in the financial service and medical industry. Interns will also learn how to interact with other professionals in a business environment. We are looking for students interested in: Accounting or Finance that are looking for Hands-on Operational experience.

VNA covers 17 counties in Missouri and Kansas and is a non-profit organization serving the metro communities since 1891 as the oldest and first home health company in Kansas City. VNA provides excellence in home health, hospice and rehabilitation services.

Eligibility

Students working during the school year can work up to 20 hours per week and as much as full-time hours during the summer. VNA will offer a flexible schedule to allow students to focus on coursework while gaining real work experience during their internship. Students eligible for the internship must also be a full-time student and available to work up to 40 hours per week.

• What will my role as an accountant be like every day?
• Why do they have so many reconciliations? What is a reconciliation?
• What is backup to a journal entry, in real life?
• Is there a difference in not-for-profit accounting?

Qualifications

• Full-time college students pursuing majors in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Marketing, Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other business related degrees
• Previous office work experience a plus
• Ideal candidates will be well organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making
