Job description
Summary: Under direct supervision, performs bookkeeping and accounting tasks. Posts journal or voucher entries, reconciles accounts, and checks for accuracy. Verifies, sorts, posts, and checks claims, bills, invoices, and vouchers. Typically requires a high school education or equivalent. Frequently reports to a Accounting Supervisor. Performs light clerical duties within an accounting function. May type, match payments, check items on purchase orders, prepare bank deposits and perform other routine calculations with specific instructions. Have 10-key skills by touch or sight. Is familiar with computers (and basic principles of A/P or A/R). Performs basic accounting functions requiring knowledge of accounts payable and receivable and of bank reconciliation functions. Answers customer inquiries. Researches problems and/or complaints. Creates and edits spreadsheets. Can perform any combination of routine calculating, posting and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.
Must have experience in preparing and submitting journal entries and account reconciliations. SAP experience and college degree preferred. Must be willing to report to Cranberry office a minimum 3 days a week and be available during month end close (after hours). No time off will be approved during month end close.
