Position:
The North Central District Health Department has an opportunity for an Accounting Associate. This is a contract position and serves under the direction of the Finance Administrator. The salary range for this position is $23.29-$28.95 hourly or $45,415.50 - $56,452.50 annually based on a 37.5-hour work week. Some of the responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to;
- Accounts Payable responsibilities include ensuring proper recording and timely processing of invoices, timely processing of vendor payments, collections, processing of reports, and resolution of problems with invoices.
- Maintain and organize documents related to various accounting files and projects, such as creating and filing vendor payment packets, filing payroll taxes, and maintaining vendor records.
- Assist with annual financial audits and help to resolve accounting and financial problems and/or issues.
- Ensuring compliance with federal and state laws in all areas of 1099 reporting requirements.
- Serve as backup to Finance Administrator cross-training to provide essential functions in their absence.
- Serve as back-up to payroll including processing payroll, reporting, ensure all deductions and payroll activities are compliant with payroll laws and provide support to employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Community Health, Accounting, Human Resource Management, or high school diploma/GED and six (6) years of experience equivalent to the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.
Minimum Experience: One (1) year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and accounts payable, business administration or closely related field in an administrative or management capacity or a master’s degree
in business administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Community Health, Accounting, Human Resource Management

North Central District Health Department serves the communities of Henry, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble counties in Kentucky. We are centrally located between the two largest cities in Kentucky, Louisville, and Lexington. We serve rural and small urban-like communities.
