Accounting Assistant

Reports to: Finance Manager

Location: Everett, Washington

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Full Time

$22-$25 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process daily income distributions, transfer to Excel, and upload to cloud-based accounting system for non-profits (MIP Abila)
• Assist with general ledger entries
• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
• Assist with bank reconciliations
• Assist with various general ledger account reconciliations
• Perform daily accounting tasks that help ensure our Finance department runs smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.
• Assist Finance department with multiple tasks and functions required to manage all locations
• Manage and prioritize workload in alignment with organizational priorities

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting preferred
• Accounting experience required (3+ years preferred)
• Experience using MIP Abila or other accounting system preferred

SKILLS and ABILTIES

• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
• Intermediate-level MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook or Gmail skills
• Accounting software skills (e.g. MIP Abila)
• Data entry skills
• Organization skills
• Ability to be detailed, accurate and thorough
• Ability to use computers and related technology efficiently
• Ability to work independently and prioritize a wide variety of tasks
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
• Ability to manage a high volume of time-sensitive work in a fast-paced environment
