ABOUT THIS POSITION
Soar is looking for an experienced Accounting Assistant to partner with the Business Manager and Accounting Lead to provide accounting support and own and execute tasks with professionalism and efficiency. This role will be remote, working closely with multiple client teams. The selected candidate will be driven, professional, have an eye for detail, a collaborative spirit, and a fundamental desire to ‘get it done’ efficiently and effectively. The candidate should have prior experience with bookkeeping.
YOU’RE PERFECT FOR SOAR IF...
● You are comfortable with financial numbers, budgets, and creating spreadsheets
● You are an experienced bookkeeper with intimate knowledge of QuickBooks Online
● You are proficient with both Google Suite and Microsoft Office product offerings (Excel, Word, Teams, Office 365, etc.)
● You are comfortable with general technology such as basic troubleshooting or initial setup of new systems based on tutorials and Google searches
● You understand the importance of financial deadlines and would never miss one
● You have prior human resources experience with HRIS’s such as Bamboo and Gusto
● You have prior experience with employee benefit administration
● You are proficient with both Google Suite and Microsoft Office product offerings (Excel, Word,
Teams, Office 365, etc.)
● You are comfortable with general technology such as basic troubleshooting or initial setup of new accounting systems based on tutorials and Google searches
● You have experience juggling multiple priorities and toggling between multiple client businesses
● You have an attitude of taking independent initiative and exhibiting creative problem solving while remaining dedicated to teamwork
● You are currently available to work 10-20 hours per week with room to grow
● You are an Intrapreneur looking for a long term, stable role
● Must be willing to undergo background check
RESPONSIBILITIES
● Process timely and accurate payroll for staff & contractors. Tools used include Gusto, Harvest, Studio Designer and Quickbooks online.
● Conduct monthly bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations including breakout of principal and interest entries
● Collecting and tracking form W 9
● Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly payroll tax forms and make necessary deposits.
● Perform duties associated with accounts payable including: interacting with staff and vendors, processing invoices, expense coding, statement reconciliation and data entry
● Perform duties associated with accounts receivable including: maintain records of incoming payments, posting, preparing and submitting invoices and account statements, performing account reconciliations, maintaining accounts receivable files and records
● Perform collections follow ups
● Register for EFTPS and tax authority payment portals for new clients
