Operations Associate – Investor Relations and Operations Team

We have offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and Cambridge, MA with approximately $500M in assets under management.

We are looking for an Operations Associate to join our team. In this role, you will support the Finance, Operations and Investor Relations teams and utilize strong organizational skills and attention to detail to strengthen our team. The position will be based in Cambridge, MA. This is a hybrid role, but the expectation is that you will be on-site at least 3 days per week.
Job Description
· Assist with Accounting and cash management tasks for our venture capital funds
o Analyze and reconcile bank accounts for all managed entities
o Manage Accounts Payable for separate entities using accounting software
o Responsible for vendor management, entering bills and allocation of expenses to managed entities
o Assist with Accounts Receivable for amounts invoiced to managed entities or portfolio companies
o Post journal entries for accrued expenses and record cash transactions
o Perform review of capital call notices, distribution notices and quarterly capital account statements for managed fund entities
o Track capital calls and distributions for managed fund entities
o Record and reconcile credit card expenses in accounting software
o Help with review of monthly legal fees and allocation of expense to managed entity or portfolio company
o Prepare travel, annual investor meeting and other expense allocation schedules
o Help with accounting of portfolio entities
o Assist with preparation of financial statements
o Help with ad-hoc finance/accounting requests
· Assist with daily and/or periodic Operations and Compliance tasks
o Maintain/update Limited Partner contacts in spreadsheets and databases including our CRM DealCloud
o Assist CCO with periodic staff Compliance requirements
· Assist with event planning and logistics including, but not limited to:
o MBC’s annual off-site meeting with investors
o New events associated with programming to support founders (Platinum Program demo day, etc.)
· Assist on ad-hoc projects as needed
Key Qualifications for an Applicant:
- 1-2 years previous work experience in a corporate setting is preferred
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite and QuickBooks
