Community Health Connections (CHC), founded on February 25, 2002, is a mainstay for compassionate care, regardless of income or insurance status. We have over 20 years of experience as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving everyone who comes through our doors; including low income, underinsured, uninsured, publicly housed, and homeless populations, in 35 cities and towns in North Central Massachusetts.
The Accountant/Financial Analyst assists the CFO and Controller in their fiduciary role of preserving all the assets, tangible and intangible, and finances of the Health Center and the reporting of them to all responsible parties on a timely basis and according to all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The position functions independently with minimal supervision and plans, coordinates and carries out those tasks necessary to meet the job responsibilities.
The Accountant/Financial Analyst assists the Controller in the monthly closing process. This process includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following:
Manage grants and contracts (including budgets, accounting and reporting)
Participate in meetings surrounding grant and contract administration.
Prepare financial portions of the annual UDS report.
Prepare and update various monthly reconciliations and as-needed account and trend analyses,
Prepare and distribute (as needed) all monthly reporting to respective departments,
Produce general Ledger reporting, as needed.
Assist in annual budget preparation and posting,
Assist in monthly administration of provider incentives.
Assist in annual year-end audit, and applicable site audits.
Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting schedules as needed.
Analyses for grant revenue, Accounts receivable, and temporarily restricted net assets on a monthly basis, and in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (from an accredited institution), major in Accounting or Finance
5 years applicable accounting experience.
Prior experience in a non-profit setting preferred.
Advanced computer skills. Strong Excel spreadsheet and database management skills
Demonstrated experience in administrative policies and practices.
Ability to function independently with minimal supervision, and to plan, coordinates and carries out those tasks necessary to meet the job.
Team player with ability to deal with sensitive information in a highly confidential.
Proactive and analytical problem solving
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficient in reading and writing in English
