Accountant

Allegheny Country Club is looking to add to its growing team. The candidate will be a key component to the accounting department who support the operation of all departments with efficient communication. This position provides timely and accurate flow of cash disbursements in accordance with company and accounting policies.

In this role you will (but not limited to):

• Pay invoices in a timely manner
• Post invoices to correct general ledger accounts
• Keep accurate records of all vendors and cash disbursements
• Prepare and distribute 1099's to appropriate vendors
• Maintain current W-9 and PA 1099 miscellaneous withholding exemption certificate
• Petty Cash - Keep record payouts, collect receipts, and keep a log of all cash income and expense to prepare a journal entry
• Keep accurate reports for monthly expenses for employee benefits, gas and oil usage, schedule of employee life insurance coverage, sales and use tax due to PA and Allegheny County, and 1099 reports.
• Assist the Accounts Receivable Specialist with preparing for statement printing, answering member's questions, and entering interclub charges into ClubEssential to charge our members.
• Assist the Controller with varied reports, vendor or account inquires, budget and forecast model, formulating and posting journal entries, and preparing trial balance workpapers

Qualifications & Skills:

• Familiar with principals of accounting
• Two to three years prior experience preferred
• Experience working in private country clubs preferred but not required
• Proficient with Excel
• Ability to organize files, prioritize work, and keep accurate records
• Experience with ClubEssential is a plus
